Consult Club organized an introductory workshop on consulting as a career choice on July 19, 2015 to introduce the incoming batch to the profession. The session was conducted by 3 of our PGP2 students and was very well received. The workshop introduced the consulting industry and delved into various aspects of the career – the skillsets required, the tradeoffs involved, a typical week in the life of a consultant and the project lifecycle. Many PGP2 students, who had interned at a wide spectrum of consulting firms were also invited to share their internship experiences and their thoughts on the consulting as a career, in order to give a realistic and varied perspective to the audience.
This workshop was the first in a series of planned sessions to encompass the journey from understanding about the career to finally cracking the interviews and joining one of the coveted firms. Subsequent sessions will focus on various aspects of preparation including drafting differentiated CVs and cracking the case interview.
